Legacy: Prisoner of the Floating World continued today with the release of Issue #2.  Corinna Bechko and Gabriel Hardman have delivered yet another enjoyable issue that follows the adventures of the newest Solo descendent.

It’s probably safe to say at this point that Ania Solo is not having a good day.  All she did was find a lightsaber and try and sell it and now people are trying to kill her to get a hold of it.  More specifically, the Sith Lord posing as an Imperial Knight is trying to kill her.  All her friend Sauk wants is for all of this to end because ‘criminal’ was one line he didn’t want added to his resume.  On the other end of the galaxy, some of the Imperial Knights are beginning to worry because Master Val has yet to report in.

Bechko and Hardman certainly know how to keep their readers on the edge of their seats and end the issue on a cliffhanger.  Much of what made the first issue an enjoyable read also applies here which is a good sign for issues to come.  It’s a good story and the dialogue is well written.  They also know when to simply let the story being told through the artwork speak for itself.  The pages never feel overly cluttered with speech bubbles as some comics can be prone to do.  As with the previous issue, Gabriel Hardman’s art is a wonderful aspect of the book especially when paired with Rachelle Rosenberg’s coloring.  His style is perfect for the story being told.

The more I read about Ania Solo, the more I like her.  Even though Ania doesn’t seem like she wants to be an heir to the Skywalker/Solo legacy, you can certainly see that the Solo and Skywalker personality genes are strong with her.  No one gets into trouble like members of that family.

The villain of the story also has me intrigued.  He’s posing as Master Val to the rest of the galaxy but it was his conversation with the actual Val that interested me.  Val’s been locked in some painful mask and the Sith is only willing to release him if he falls to the Dark Side. I look forward to seeing more of this character as well as his back story.

I give Legacy #2 a 4/5 at this series continues to get off to a good start and recommend you check it out.
