Its five years of Marvel movies this week on Tosche Station Radio!

Kicking off the show, the hosts discuss What’s New on the Blog. The tension in Nanci’s Thrawn Trilogy retrospective is off the charts. Shoshana started her Jedi Apprentice retrospective! In Rebels news, Nanci reviewed “Out of Darkness” and Brian reviewed “Empire Day.” Bria reviewed Mockingjay and told us why Bria Tharen needs to be in Rebels.

Fixer’s Flash features Nanci writing, Brian failing to purchase video games, and Bria costuming. Surprise surprise.

This week Deak’s Dirt starts with a Hollywood Reporter article on the security surrounding The Force Awakens. Solicitations for Marvel’s Darth Vader comic, which arrives in February. The Princess Leia miniseries will debut in March, and the Star Wars comic will be the first to arrive, in January. According to Tracy Cannobio at Lucasfilm, Rebels will go on hiatus next week and will return on January 5. Check out this AWESOME Celebration Anaheim video!

When are we going to see a trailer for The Force Awakens? Who knows, but we discuss it on Biggs Bull$#*@ anyways.

Marvel announced a bunch of movies, and Bria joins us to discuss them on Camie’s Concerns this week. There’s a whole lot of stuff to be excited for!

Review: Star Wars Rebels: Empire Day

And with that, those who were worried that Rebels wouldn’t have the gravitas of The Clone Wars found themselves with one less thing to worry about.

“Empire Day” begins with Hera, Sabine, and Zeb making their way into an alley of a somewhat remote outpost on Lothal. As they disappear, Sabine stops and gazes out into the distance, where she sees Ezra and Kanan training.

Deak’s Dirt starts with a new Star Wars costume exhibit coming to Seattle’s EMP museum, and Nanci and Brian will be able to attend! The release dates for Heir to the Jedi and Lords of the Sith were pushed back. We suspect the work of the dark side.There were a couple of new mini-excerpts and audio excerpts from Tarkin. We have a Go/No-go. If you’re still undecided, the first 50 pages are up on Suvudu. Finally, X-Wing and Tie Fighter get modern digital releases

This time around in Biggs’ Bull$#&@, Beardwatch is no more! JJ Abrams tells Variety that Episode VII only uses IMAX for one sequence. The rumored villain for Episode VII looks a lot like an old villain. Is John Williams scoring an Episode VII trailer in November?

In Camie’s Cocnerns, we find out that principal photography on THE FORCE AWAKENS has ended. WAIT WHAT? EPISODE VII HAS A TITLE. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

This week’s Deak’s Dirt starts with some new Tarkin excerpts on the Star Wars Books Facebook page, and Issue 153 of the Star Wars Insider will contain another excerpt, as well as some artwork. Marvel solicits Star Wars #1 with a fantastic variant cover, which is an homage to the original Marvel Star Wars #1. There’s a sneak peek of Vader’s appearance in ABC’s airing of Spark of Rebellion. And finally in the most anticlimactic rumor ever, Matthew Stover is not writing a new Star Wars book.

Biggs’ Bull$#@* hears rumors that Episode VII is wrapping up filming shortly.

Review: Star Wars Rebels: Fighter Flight

Fighter Flight is a pretty self-contained bottle episode. That in and of itself is pretty unremarkable. What is remarkable, however, is that it was a bottle episode that was thoroughly entertaining and fun. If this is what Rebels is going to do with even episodes that may not have the biggest bearing on the overarching story, we’re in for a great ride.

Kicking off the show, the hosts highlight what’s New on the Blog. Welcome Ryorin, our new staff writer. She’ll be handling news and occasional columns. She wrote about some possible directions for diversity in the Sequel Trilogy. We hope to have her on the podcast sometime soon! Bria wrote about what Sabine Wren means for Star Wars. There’s loose ends in the old Expanded Universe, so we’re Lighting the Legends Fanfiction Signal. Nanci started her Thrawn Trilogy retrospective. Bria pleaded for everyone to stop being mean to Del Rey. We roundtable reviewed of Spark of Rebellion. Bria also reviewed Droids in Distress. Nanci wrote about why Wedge Antilles needs to be in Rebels.

In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci’s been keeping busy re-reading Heir to the Empire and is about to crack open Tarkin.

Deak’s Dirt starts with Random House releasing a 50 page excerpt of Tarkin. They also revealed the full blurb for Heir to the Jedi. The Ventress/Vos novel gets a title, Dark Disciple. It’ll be released in July 2015. Clone Wars story reels- Crystal Crisis on Utapau, online now. The Lost Missions DVD/Blu Ray will be released on November 11. Rebels gets an order for a second season. Also lots of new clips, including one featuring Hera and Sabine. ABC will air Spark of Rebellion on October 26, featuring a new Vader scene. The Star Wars: Battle Pod arcade game was unveiled at NYCC. Not a lot of other news out of NYCC, but a big comic announcement: Kanan by Greg Weisman

ABC to air Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion

If you missed the original airing of Spark of Rebellion, don’t you fret. ABC will be re-airing it on Sunday, October 26th at 7PM. If you did see it already, well, you may still want to tune in. From the Official Site

The critically-acclaimed epic adventure Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion will air on ABC on Sunday, October 26 (7:00 p.m. ET/PT). Executive producer Dave Filoni states, “We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast. We’ve added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by the distinguished actor James Earl Jones.”
