New Her Universe Gear Coming on Cyber Monday

Need to do some holiday shopping for the women in your life, or just looking to buff up your  own geeky wardrobe? Luckily for you, Her Universe is here to save the day! Yesterday the company previewed their new holiday items, which include two Doctor Who tees, a Star Wars v-neck shirt (the same style shirt as the Mara Jade exclusive from Celebration, which fits so very well), a Star Trek tee, a Battlestar Galactica sweatshirt, and last but not least, Darth Vader pajamas designed by Katie Cook!

How cute are they?? Katie did an awesome job.

You can purchase all of these items starting Cyber Monday (November 26). Even better, there are two exclusives for orders placed on that day only: every order will receive a free Chewbacca holiday pin, and all orders within the United States are eligible for free ground shipping.

And in news very relevant to readers of this blog, Ashley Eckstein teased on Twitter that Her Universe is in the process of designing a Rogue Squadron dress and tank top! No word yet on when we might see those released, but you can be sure I’ll be first in line to get them.

You can see all of Her Universe’s new holiday items here.

Her Universe Boldly Goes Into A New Franchise

One of the new Trek-themed shirts

One major announcement just wasn’t enough for Her Universe. Earlier this week, it was announced they would be venturing into BBC land and producing all-new Doctor Who shirts. Yesterday, Ashley Eckstein announced that they had also secured a license to create Star Trek wardrobe.

For the first time in Star Trek’s 46-year history, one company is focusing exclusively on the female fans of the legendary space adventure. Her Universe™, a leader in female genre merchandise, announced its new license with CBS Consumer Products to create a collection of apparel and accessories for the growing female Star Trek fan base.

With a limited debut July 11th at San Diego’s Comic Con and online at Heruniverse.com, the Star Trek by Her Universe line will feature fashion tops and hoodies rolled out over the course of the year highlighting images, characters and phrases from the Star Trek franchise. To recognize the female fans of Star Trek, CBS Consumer Products has created a unique Star Trek logo which will only appear on merchandise from the Her Universe collection.

It’s great to see Her Universe expanding into more and more fandoms. The-Other-Star-Franchise was a natural choice and one that I imagine our own Emily is quite excited about. Be sure to head to the Her Universe shop to check out the new offerings, including something special for you Wil Wheaton fans out there.

Expanded Universe Convention Swag Roundup

To those of you going to all of the major conventions this year, I am both jealous of you and insanely curious as to how you can afford it. If you are that lucky, you’ll be able to pick up some rather nifty swag from the lovely folks with Star Wars Books. First up, how about some Scoundrels bookmarks?

These bookmarks will be available at SDCC, NYCC, and Celebration VI, but there’s a catch. Only Han, Lando, and Chewie’s bookmarks will be at all three. If you’re at SDCC, you can pick up the Winter bookmark. NYCC goers can snag Bink Kitik, while Celebration VI attendees can get Kell Tainer and Zerba Cher’dak.

Attendees at all three conventions will also be able to pick up an 84-page book of excerpts containing bits from all of Del Rey’s 2012 Star Wars books. Also available, an X-Wing: Mercy Kill iron-on patch.

If your’e at any one of these conventions, keep your eyes out for Del Rey’s convention handouts!

Official Celebration VI Shirt Available For Pre-Order

Are you heading to Celebration VI, the Star Wars convention to end all Star Wars conventions? Do you want some wardrobe to commemorate the event? Well you’re in luck, for $30, you can pre-order the official CVI shirt.

Keep in mind, you must have a ticket to the convention to order. To get yours, head on over to the Celebration VI show store.

New Her Universe Products Now Available

All of those awesome new shirts and items that Ashley Eckstein and Her Universe have been previewing for the last several weeks officially went on sale at the site today. Some of these new products include …

Clockwise: Looking For Love In Alderaan Places tee, Sith racer back tank, Calavera Vader Scoop tee, and the Self-Rescuing Princess children’s tee.

To purchase one of the above or to check out the other new offerings, head on over to Her Universe.

Hunger Games/Star Wars Mashup Tee is an Instant Purchase

I fully admit it, I’ve got a thing for nerdy t-shirts. Especially nerdy t-shirts that have crossover fandom appeal. I’ve got Woot’s lovely DeLorean and TARDIS fender bender shirt, the It’s a (ghost)Trap tee. I’ve even got that Cheers/Star Wars mashup. Suffice to say, when Nanci spotted today’s crossover gem, it was an instant purchase. Ript Apparel put together something I couldn’t say no to.

A Hunger Games/Star Wars mashup? Yeah, that’s a purchase. And you should get one too. The Rebel Games tee is available today only for $10.

Her Universe Teases New Gear For Girls

Along with the new gear released on May 4, Her Universe will be selling brand new merchandise at Star Wars Weekends – for girls! I’ve long since lamented the lack of Star Wars clothing available for little girls (the only option was to shop in the boys’ sections of stores like Target and Wal Mart), but Her Universe is stepping up to the challenge with three new adorable offerings. The first is an Ahsoka-themed costume tunic, which will be great for Halloween and special events like Star Wars Weekends and Celebration VI. The other two shirts were designed by Star Wars artist Katie Cook and feature “Jedi-in-Training” Ahsoka (also available as a onesie!) and “Self-Rescuing Princess” Leia (which I might have to purchase for myself – luckily I can fit into girls’ XXL!).

Currently Her Universe offers two shirts for girls: the Ahsoka Chibi and Daddy’s Little Girl.

Star Wars Weekends begins May 18 and concludes June 10. I will be there every weekend to report on the festivities for the blog!
