If you don’t read Scott Kurtz’s PVP, well, you should. If you’re like me and you don’t necessarily read it regularly so you can catch up all at once as a treat to yourself–today’s comic might be an exception as Cole and Brent catch up and discuss the important things in life–The Walking Dead and Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm.

The Clone Wars Review: Front Runners

Star Wars, ANH, As performed by ALL THE VOICEACTORS!
At Emerald City Comic Con back in late March, a panel featuring Billy West, Tara Strong, Maurice LaMarche, John DiMaggio, Kevin Conroy, Jess Harnell and Rob Paulsen performed Star Wars: A New Hope in the voices of almost all the characters that they ever played. It’s pretty awesome, and hilarious. If you’ve never imagined Luke Skywalker as played by Bender from Futurama, then apparently you haven’t lived.
Some of the language in here gets NSFW, btw. Don’t watch it with your kids.
I keep finding things like this…
… and I think I might be losing my mind.
Rest In Peace Rachael Ambrose
Blogger and friend Rachael Ambrose passed away suddenly yesterday. Myself and the rest of the staff at Tosche Station ask you to keep her husband and family in your thoughts.
I met Rachael through the TFN fanfiction boards before either of us got into blogging. She was always incredibly complimentary of my stuff and was, quite simply, one of the nicest people you would ever meet in fandom. We talked face-to-face for the first time at Origins just a few weeks ago, and I think that’s why I’m really at a loss right now. Rachael was a wonderful fan and a wonderful person.
Celebration VI Begs You To Stay To The Bitter End
Don’t look now, but the Celebration VI staff have announced … an announcement.
Mark your calendars now, and don’t miss the Closing Ceremonies at Celebration VI.
If you’re planning on going to Star Wars Celebration, there’s something really special planned on Sunday afternoon, August 26th that you definitely won’t want to miss! Make your plans now to stay at the biggest Star Wars Party in the galaxy, and see what’s in store for the Closing Ceremonies!
This special event is planned for Sunday, August 26th, from 2:30-3:30PM on the Celebration Stage (Chapin Theater). See you there!
Certainly this will end well, promises of something “really special.” It’s not like fans would ever over-speculate as to what that something special might be and wind up disappointed when it doesn’t live up to the delusions of grandeur that had in their heads. So you know what, I’m just going to set the bar at some absurd level right now.
Something special = a Star Wars reboot helmed by a geek dream team of Joss Whedon and Christopher Nolan. With J.J. Abrams serving as executive lensflare producer.
The Enterprise Versus Real Space Ships: A Comparison Chart
We all know that the starship Enterprise was big, but just how big was it? Science blog Supernova Condensate aimed to put it into perspective by compiling a nifty chart comparing the Enterprise to real-life space vessels. Takeaway? The Enterprise (if it existed) is huge. The Mercury capsule was tiny.
Just a touch of E3 coverage
As some of you may know, the largest gaming conference in the world is taking place right now in LA, The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or just E3. I’m just going to try to hit the high points of what’s been going on as best I can, although I haven’t been as plugged in as I have been in the past.
The biggest things that people have been looking forward to in the whole expo have been the new hardware from the ‘Big 3,’ Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. Last year, Nintendo announced a new console system called the ‘Wii U,’ and this year they’ve given us more of the details of the system. Microsoft has shown a new addition the X-Box 360 that will probably add some serious life to the system, called Smart Glass. Sony is yet to have their day at the convention, but the buzz is that they will be introducing a new console, although I haven’t heard anything more. (Edit) Sony’s press conference was last night, they debuted God of War Ascension, a few secenes from The Last of Us and a new project from the maker’s of Heavy Rain. I hadn’t heard anything about this from any of the sources I’ve been reading or watching and had to actively look for any of this with the exception of God of War, and that didn’t seem to be drawing a lot of buzz.
Check out the rest after the jump
The Avengers Assemble…
The Avengers has just taken the spot of the third-highest grossing movie of all time.
The only movies ahead of it are Titanic and Avatar. Down with you, Cameron!
Iron Man 3 pics!
I won’t go into detail or post any of the pictures in the interest of those of you who want to remain spoiler free, but the first two pictures from this Yahoo! Stars on Set gallery come from the set of Iron Man 3 and give us the first look at the film’s villain.
I think I’m already excited!
