Disney World gearing up for a Star Wars addition?

This is very much in the rumor phase, but I suppose I give this one a little more credit because it would fall under the “well, duh” category. According to Theme Park Insider, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is gearing up for a major expansion that will include the Cars Land also seen at California Adventures and a Star Wars-themed expansion

Get ready for history to repeat itself. It looks as though [George] Kalogridis and his team have gotten the green light for a project to remake the Disney’s Hollywood Studiospark on a scale similar to what Disney just finished at California Adventure.

The projects will share one very large component — Cars Land, the highlight of the California Adventure makeover, will come to Florida as part of the Hollywood Studios revamp, according to multiple insider sources. But it won’t necessarily be the highlight of the changes coming to the park.

That’s because Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also getting…

Star Wars Land.

Star Wars land in Orlando? Yeah, sign me up for an annual pass.

Lucas upbeat on Abrams-led Star Wars

LucasThe Maker no longer has the reigns to Star Wars. But what does he think of the man now directing the franchise? According to Access Hollywood, Lucas seems upbeat on Abrams:

“Yeah, [I’m excited]. J.J.’s a great director and we’re friends,” George told Access Hollywood at the 2013 Crystal + Lucy Awards, when asked if he’s looking forward to J.J.’s films. “I think he understands the whole thing and how it works.

“And if he doesn’t, [Lucasfilms president] Kathy [Kennedy] will keep it straight,” he added with a laugh.

He was also asked what his involvement with Star Wars will be moving forward. In his words,“If they need help or anything, they’ll give me a call… Otherwise, I’m off on my own.”

Kickstart Time Traveled Tales

How would you like a speculative fiction anthology featuring works by authors like Timothy Zahn, Aaron Allston, Mike Stackpole, Janine Spendlove, and Bryan Young? Good news, there’s a Kickstarter for that.

At the $5 level, you’ll get an ebook version of the anthology. At $20, you’ll get the limited Kickstarter edition.

The Clone Wars bonus content could be ten episodes

Clone Wars composer Kevin Kiner was on the Full of Sith podcast recently to talk about the show. During the course of the interview, he mentioned that he’s working on scoring the remaining bonus content for the series. According to him, there may be ten episodes that fans will be able to see.

We have about ten shows that we’re still working on, that are going to be part of this special material. And even hopefully there is going to be a soundtrack record as part of this special material. We’ll see they’re in negotiations about that so we’re not positive that’s going to happen.

Keep in mind things are still up in the air and there could be more or less content ultimately available.
