Welcome back to another edition of Cosplay Monday where we try to brighten your morning with some excellent costumes! We’ve got another awesome costume for you from Megacon this year that was found via Tumblr. The only thing better than a great costume is when it’s a kid wearing a great costume. Check out this awesome girl as Michonne from The Walking Dead. To make things even better, it looks like she got her Dad to be one of Michonne’s trademarked armless walkers. She just looks so badass. Better not mess with her. 😉
Kathleen Kennedy says Lucasfilm won’t go all Into Darkness on Episode VII
Star Trek fans have been having to deal with J.J. Abrams being tight-lipped for ages in regards to Star Trek Into Darkness. He still hasn’t explicitly said who Benedict Cumberbatch is playing. Can you imagine trying to shroud Episode VII and the Sequel Trilogy in that kind of secrecy for the next two years? Thankfully, it appears Kathleen Kennedy can’t either.
No telling exactly how much information they’ll release or when, but at the very least it seems like they won’t be masking who’s playing what two weeks before the film releases.
Star Wars Books hosting a Facebook chat with Pablo Hidalgo
Clear your Friday afternoon, Lucasfilm brand communication manager, Essential Reader’s Companion author, and superior wit Pablo Hidalgo will be holding a Facebook chat over at the Star Wars Books page on May 3rd at 3PM ET.
Hi folks. Some great news to share! Author and resident Star Wars expert at Lucasfilm Pablo Hildalgo will be stopping by the page next Friday, 5/3 at 3pm EST for a little May the 4th primer chat.
Understand that, as Yoda said, “always in motion is the future,” so he will not be able to go into detail on future projects, including the new movies coming from Lucasfilm.
That being said he is a treasure trove of knowledge on the books and can’t wait to chat with all of you.
We hope you can join us!
Get your questions ready, but do remember that he doesn’t know when Karen Traviss is coming back. Or when Battlefront III is coming out.
Empire and Rebellion: Razor’s Edge gets a cover
I’ve made no secret that Martha Wells’ Leia novel is one of my most anticipated releases of 2013. Today, io9 got a look at the cover for the novel and my anticipation went up even more.
That is fantastic cover art and a great portrayal of Leia in particular. Razor’s Edge is due out October 15th.

Tosche Station Radio #55: Summer Movie Extravaganza
On this episode of Tosche Station Radio, the hosts are joined by Bria and Shane from the blog to take a look at the summer’s movie offerings!
Kicking off the show, the hosts highlight what’s New on the Blog this week. It’s pretty much been a Bria show as the Waru Express continued on its the journey through the NJO and reviewed Legacy #4. She was also at AwesomeCon in DC over the weekend and had a Convention Report.
In Fixer’s Flash, Nanci took advantage of her Orlando resident status and took a trip to the Magic Kingdom. On the film side, she saw 42. Meanwhile, she read trhough Dragonpocalypse #2 by Matthew Bowers. It’s got dragons! IN SPACE! What more could you possibly want? Brian’s still reading through “Season of Passage” by Christopher Pike and is having a hard time sleeping as a result. For convention season, he got a shiny new camera that should come in handy for costume shoots. Bria attended AwesomeCon in Washington DC and is still motoring through the Waru Express. Shane’s been keeping busy with League of Legends and also watched the Abrams Star Trek to gear up for Into Darkness.
Deak’s Dirt starts with Kathleen Kennedy discussing Episode VII and Star Wars spinoffs at CinemaCon. Variety mused that she might also be in the running to take over Disney. In EU news, Vader’s Little Princess was released on Tuesday. Go pick it up! Star Wars: Legacy #2 was released Wednesday. Head to the blog and check out Bria’s review. In that other Star franchise, a Star Trek Into Darkness teaser clip was released. Over on the Marvel film side, a Thor: The Dark World teaser dropped. Film rights for Daredevil have reverted back to Marvel from Fox
This week on Camie’s Concerns, Bria and Shane from the blog join the hosts to take a look at the new films due out this summer. What are the hosts and guests looking forward to? What can they do without?
Wrapping up the show, the hosts field questions from listeners in Ask us Anything.

Awesome Con DC – Convention Report
Washington D.C. finally got its very own comic convention this weekend with the inaugural Awesome Con DC! Over Saturday and Sunday, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown DC turned into a haven of geekiness as nerds flocked from along the east coast to check out this brand new convention. While it didn’t have the numbers to rival the more famous conventions, one certainly wouldn’t have been able to guess that this was only its first year based upon the attendance which only bodes well for future years.
Awesome Con was a comfortable size with a great location especially for those in the DC Metro region who took public transportation in. There were some issues with weekend track work on the metro but none of that was the convention’s fault. This was by far one of the most kid friendly conventions that I’ve ever attended. The convention even had a small track just for the kids and a costume contest for them each day. It was a great convention for both kids and convention newcomers alike. The convention was also well attended (I’ve heard weekend attendance was around 8000) and the location leaves it with plenty of room to grow before possibly having to shop around for a new place. Above all else though, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves which is always the most important thing.
Read on after the jump for a more in-depth look at in very first Awesome Con!

Jedi News’ Mark Newbold talks yearly Star Wars films on BBC Breakfast
Last week we had Jedi News‘ Mark Newbold on the podcast. The result was perhaps the most fun episode of Tosche Station Radio we’ve ever recorded. Suffice to say, we’re fans of Mark (and you bet we’re looking for chances to get him back on the show).
After recording with us, Mark got to talk to a (hugely) bigger audience and sat down with BBC Breakfast to discuss the news that Lucasfilm will be producing a yearly Star Wars film starting in 2015 with Episode VII. Definitely give the above video a watch, Mark’s a tremendous personality and really knows his stuff.
After that, listen to him on the podcast linked above! /shamelessplug
