Holonet Blast #63
Hello again, friends! It’s time for our weekly roundup of news from a galaxy far, far away (and beyond!)
Jim Rash Talks Resistance
Actor/writer Jim Rash sat down with ET this week to talk about his recently released film Bernard & Huey (June 8). During the interview, there is a little talk about his character in Star Wars, Resistance. For those of you, like me, who are hungry and excited for any information we can get regarding the show, the Star Wars stuff begins about 5:50 into the video!
First Look at San Diego Comic Con Hasbro Exclusives
Entertainment Weekly got a sneak peek this week at some of the Star Wars exclusives coming to San Diego Comic Con from our friends at Hasbro. The two previewed collectibles are both iconic scenes from the franchise’s history of cool face-offs. The first captured the epic lightsaber battle between Rey and Kylo Ren in the snowy forest of Starkiller Base in The Force Awakens; the second a showdown between Han Solo and a mynock, famously occurring in the belly of a space slug in The Empire Strikes Back. These collectibles and more will be available exclusively to attendees at San Diego Comic Con. More info can be found HERE.
A Guide to the Galaxy
This week the folks at Fantasy Flight Games released a preview of the Star Wars Sourcebook to be included in the Star Wars Roleplay Game 30th Anniversary Edition. The Sourcebook, an update to the original 1987 release, goes in-depth on some of Star Wars’ most recognizable content including exacting detail on favorite starships and a guide to constructing accurate and believable alien characters. The Star Wars Roleplay Game 30th Anniversary Edition is available for pre-order HERE.
Wonder Woman 1984 Photos Looking Cool on Twitter
In a non-Star Wars, but still awesome development this week, cast and crew of the upcoming feature Wonder Woman 1984 gave us a look into the world of the film. Both Gal Godot (Wonder Woman) and director Patty Jenkins have tweeted stills from the film. The visuals are everything one might hope for from a comic book jaunt into the fabulous 1980’s and I cannot wait to see more! Read the tweets and see the pictures for yourself HERE (Patty Jenkins) and HERE (Gal Godot)!
That’s all there is from us this week. As always, be sure to send Star Wars and geek culture news tips to us here at Tosche Station, and May The Force Be With You!
Book Wars Pod, Episode 53: Praying Her Space Rosary
We’re starting CATALYST by James Luceno on the pod this week! Join us as we talk about the Clone Wars through a wider, galaxy-wide lens; the novel’s connections to Rogue One; and some cool science facts about this galaxy’s version of kyber.
This podcast is NOT spoiler-free and also mentions plot points from Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rogue One.

Review: Most Wanted
If you’re like me, you walked out of Solo: A Star Wars Story wanting to know everything you possibly could about Qi’ra and read dozens of stories about her. Thankfully, Most Wanted by Rae Carson came out the same day as the film and I was eager to dive into it especially since I’m a far of Carson’s Fire and Thorns trilogy. Even better? Most Wanted definitely did not disappoint.
Most Wanted introduces us to both Han and Qi’ra not more than a year before Solo begins with Lady Proxima pitting the two of them against each other to determine who will be the next Head Child of the White Worms. Given that the promotion comes with extra rations (including real food!) and other “privileges,” both of them really want it. Badly. When a deal goes very wrong, Han and Qi’ra realize that the only chance they have of salvaging either of their hopes of becoming Head is to work together and find themselves on a crazy adventure that neither of them could have ever forseen. Holonet Blast #62
After last week’s fairly light week, this week brings us quite a bit to talk about! Let’s jump right in, starting with the copious amounts of video game news.
Battlefront II is getting more content, starting with a continuation of Han Solo Season, bringing you more Solo content this Tuesday, June 12. This includes new locations (KESSEL!), new appearances, and more. In July, Battlefront II will also see the addition of a new Starfighter Mode, which will focus on piloting (and destroying) Hero ships, and EA promises another, larger-scale mode later this year. Finally (as far as this week’s Battlefront news, that is), new Clone Wars content is coming to your consoles this fall, including Heroes Anakin, Obi-Wan, Dooku, and Grievous and also Geonosis. I would make a Clone Wars pun here if I could think of anything other than droids saying “roger, roger.”
One more piece of videogame news: EA has announced an action RPG coming from Respawn Entertainment during the 2019 holidays. A single-player RPG! I’m excited! Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be set after Revenge of the Sith and will follow a Padawan that survived the purge. No word yet on whether the Padawan will be customizable.
In less video game-related news that is still kind of video game-related, the virtual reality company The Void is opening nine new locations across the US. You might know them as the folks behind Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, but I sure don’t because I haven’t been to a Disney Park since last Celebration. No word yet on when the new experience centers will be opening or what experiences will be involved.
In Star Wars Celebration news, while some Celebration Chicago tickets are still available, both the 5-day tickets and the Saturday tickets are sold out. If you are hoping to attend, it is highly recommended you not delay your ticket purchases.
One last, not-Star Wars thing before I leave you to enjoy your week: ANIMATED MILES MORALES SPIDER-MAN MOVIE IN THEATERS THIS DECEMBER:
https://twitter.com/SpiderVerse/status/1004347175948693504?s=19
SPIDER-GWEN AND PETER PARKER ARE IN IT, TOO, BECAUSE IT’S INTO THE SPIDERVERSE
*ahem*
See you next time!

Book Wars Pod, Episode 52: There’s Kissing AND Violence!
This week, we’re wrapping up DARK DISCIPLE by Christie Golden and discussing her Star Wars Insider short story, “KINDRED SPIRITS.” Ultimately, what is the role of the Jedi? In what ways does representation matter for storytelling? Plus, Kristen finally gets to talk about Hondo!
