It’s interesting how an issue with a ton of action can also be an issue where not much happens. The series so far has left Vader a little worse for the wear and honestly, he probably needs a few minutes where not much happens. (Too bad he doesn’t get much of one.)

This will be one of the spoiler filled reviews. Just a warning.

Darth Vader #6 delivers on the promise of the cover and introduces us not only to the Grand Inquisitor but also to several of the other Inquisitors that we already knew from Star Wars Rebels. It’s surprisingly early to do so but, when plot lines from The Clone Wars are taken into account, makes a fair amount of sense. I am surprised that the assorted Brothers/Sisters are as old as they are already. Given where Rebels sits in the timeline, I would have expected them to be young teenagers. But then again… maybe they are. Age can be difficult to determine in comic art.

While it’s certainly a set up issue for the next arc, this issue does have a lot of great moments in it. Palpatine being snarky about Vader returning in less than perfect shape is fabulous. It’s also neat to learn more about the history of the Grand Inquisitor. I’m hoping we get to learn even more about him and the rest of the Inquisitors as the story continues. (More Seventh Sister! More Seventh Sister!)

Overall, Darth Vader #6 is a great set up issue for the rest of the arc and I cannot wait to see what trouble both the Inquisitors and Jocasta Nu present Vader with in the issues to come.
