Review: Kanan #7

Ahhh yes.  Another month, another issue of Kanan by Greg Weisman and… Wait. Is that Pepe Larraz on art again?

IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER GIF REVIEW

In Issue #7, we remain in the present briefly before going even further into the past back to when Caleb Dume wasn’t even a Padawan yet.

Look, I know that we’ve got to eventually keep moving forward in the timeline of Caleb/Kanan but I’d be content to just read 50 issues about baby!Caleb as a Jedi.  HE’S SUCH A CUTE LIL PUPPY WITH SO MANY QUESTIONS.  I’ll admit that a part of me is torn given the unshadowcanoning of Shatterpoint (although who said that tiny Jedi are reliable sources of information?) but at the same time, I’m enjoying this story too much to care.  Not only is the medical droid a humorous gem but there’s something that’s just so great about everything involving Mace, Depa, and Caleb.  And Obi-Wan Kenobi but mostly that line of masters/padawans.  I honestly think that this is the best of the Star Wars ongoing series.  It just makes me so happy and if you’re not reading it, you’re doing yourself a severe disservice.

  1. … and Depa holding the title for “Cutest Jedi Master”.

As long as she’s being drawn by Pepe Larraz, I doubt anyone can claim that title from her 🙂
