Review: Kanan: The Last Padawan #3

Guess what: Kanan #3 is out this week and after taking a break to write a real review… yup, you guessed it.  We’re reviewing in gifs again!

We’ll start with the most accurate depiction you’ll ever see of Caleb Dume:

(Okay so maybe that turned into more of a summary than a real review BUT STILL.)

Does it even need to be said?  Greg Weisman and Pepe Larraz are putting together a FANTASTIC book each month.  Caleb is an adorable puppy who doesn’t know what to do now that his entire life’s been taken from him and his growing hair just adds to the puppy dog look.  (I want to roll around in this artwork forever because Larraz’s Caleb makes me so happy even while it breaks my heart.)  Speaking of which, the few pages with the changing hair length were a great way to show the passage of time.  I’m also enjoying Janus who feels like the believable typical person in this galaxy: he really doesn’t want trouble or to put his neck on the line but there’s also something about this poor kid.

Overall, another really well done issue whose last page left me on the edge of my seat.  I can’t wait until Issue #4!
