The third set of prints from the exclusive 36-artist Celebration VI lineup was revealed late last week. This time around, Steve Anderson, Scott Erwert, William O’Neill, Dave Dorman, and Ken Lashley get in on the fun. I think I might have to pick up that Scoundrels print above.
The Celebration VI staff announced eight new attendees today:

Felix Silla – Ewok stunt performer in Return of the Jedi
Robert Watts – Producer for Star Wars and Indiana Jones

To those of you going to all of the major conventions this year, I am both jealous of you and insanely curious as to how you can afford it. If you are that lucky, you’ll be able to pick up some rather nifty swag from the lovely folks with Star Wars Books. First up, how about some Scoundrels bookmarks?
These bookmarks will be available at SDCC, NYCC, and Celebration VI, but there’s a catch. Only Han, Lando, and Chewie’s bookmarks will be at all three. If you’re at SDCC, you can pick up the Winter bookmark. NYCC goers can snag Bink Kitik, while Celebration VI attendees can get Kell Tainer and Zerba Cher’dak.
Attendees at all three conventions will also be able to pick up an 84-page book of excerpts containing bits from all of Del Rey’s 2012 Star Wars books. Also available, an X-Wing: Mercy Kill iron-on patch.

Maybe you’re on the fence about going to Celebration VI. Maybe you need a bit more convincing. Well, Maybe Dave Filoni can talk you into it.
Yesterday, the folks behind Celebration VI released the official mobile phone app for the convention. Unfortunately, right now it’s pretty much just a countdown timer and a link to a Google map of the convention area. Eventually, you’ll be able to view panel times, guest listings, signing times, and exhibitor lists.

Another set of exclusive prints for CVI were released today. This time around, artists Brent Woodside, Marc Wolfe, John Carlisle, Tsuneo Sanda, Mark Raats, and Hydro74 are featured. On the downside, another Slave Leia illustration (we get it, she wore a metal bikini). On the upside, Ewoks!

Add another guest to the growing list of CVI attendees. The Orlando Sentinal reports that director and Star Wars fan Kevin Smith will be present and will be holding his own panel on the first night of the convention.
Director-actor-podcaster Kevin Smith has never worked on an official “Star Wars” project, but he’s enthusiastically talked about the films enough to be added to the upcoming Star Wars Celebration at the Orange County Convention Center.
“An Evening with Kevin Smith,” a question-and-answer session on Aug. 23, will be his contribution to Celebration, a four-day fan gathering that also will feature Carrie Fisher,Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Seth Green and other luminaries.
“I took my fandom of ‘Star Wars’ and kind of made it one of the cornerstones of what I do,” Smith said Thursday. Mentions of the films were worked into “Clerks” and “Mallrats,” two early Smith films.
You will need to purchase a separate ticket for the Q&A session, which will be held at 8PM.

Certainly this will end well, promises of something “really special.” It’s not like fans would ever over-speculate as to what that something special might be and wind up disappointed when it doesn’t live up to the delusions of grandeur that had in their heads. So you know what, I’m just going to set the bar at some absurd level right now.
Something special = a Star Wars reboot helmed by a geek dream team of Joss Whedon and Christopher Nolan. With J.J. Abrams serving as executive lensflare producer.
Artists Jerry Vanderstelt, Russell Walks, Tom Hodges, Jeff Confer, Mark McKenna, Jan Duursema, and others have put together ten limited run prints that will Celebration VI goers will be able to get their hands on.
