With Kristen out on vacation and Brian’s family in town, we had to push our regular recording off a couple weeks but don’t fret, we’ve got a little intermediary episode where Brian is reworking the Sinjir’s Rath IPA and working on a themed Northeast style hazy IPA called the Hazy Hullstripper. Sinjir’s Rath IPA (version 2)
Base Recipe: American IPA
Characteristics: 8.2% ABV | 70 IBU | 7 SRM
Grains:
- 80 oz. American Two-Row Pale
- 10.5 oz. Carapils
- 3 oz. Crystal 20L
Hops:
- 1.1 oz. Summit as bittering
- .2 oz. Simcoe as bittering
- .1 oz. Simcoe as flavor
- .2 oz. Citra as flavor
- .3 oz Citra as aroma
- .2 oz Centennial as aroma
Dry Hops:
- .2 oz Citra
- .2 oz Amarillo
- .1 oz Simcoe
Hazy Hullstripper
Base Recipe: Hazy
Characteristics: 7.5% ABV | 45 IBU | 9 SRM
Grains:
- 52 oz. American Two-Row Pale
- 24 oz. Maris Otter Ale Malt
- 4 oz. Crystal 20L
- 12 oz. Flaked Oats
Hops:
- .8 oz. Summit as bittering
- .3 oz. Citra as flavor
- .3 oz. Amarillo as flavor
- .2 oz Citra as aroma
- .2 oz Amarillo as aroma
Dry Hops:
- .3 oz Citra
- .3 oz Amarillo
