  1. Just as a point of order, it’s pronounced den-DARE-ee. (As the ee in beet.) Grover had it wrong in some of the early recordings, the production of which, hah, did not match either the publication or internal chronological order of the books. (He was apparently thinking it was like Latin nomenclature, which it is not.)

    The “Bleakman” is even more of a private joke than it seems, as the name “Barrayar” is a sort of cod-Russian for “bleak valley”.)
